Whether your group is large or small, for children or adults, a variety of programs are offered.

Maximum number of programs is 4 per day.

Maximum travel time is up to 1.5 hours one way.

No mileage fees for destinations under 40 miles. 41+ miles = $50

 

Events, Fairs, and Community Centers

Host IREEC at your site for a one-of-a-kind program for your group or event. These programs are great for libraries, community fairs, and more.

Each program includes 3 to 4 live animals, bio facts and hands-on demonstrations based on audience ages.

Topics:

  • Hunters of the Sky – live hawks & owls, natural history, adaptations, conservation measures
  • Awesome Owls – live owls, natural history, adaptations, conservation measures
  • Amazing Animal Adaptations – live hawks & owls, snake or turtle, features for survival
  • Pennsylvania Wildlife – live owl or hawk, snake & turtle, highlighting some PA wildlife species – threats to them, roles in local ecosystems, & conservation measures
  • Owl Encounters & Night Walk – live owl program followed by night walk to call for owls*
  • Interactive Exhibit educational booth with informal, live birds of prey and/or reptile talks, display of furs, feathers, shells and skulls for guests to touch and explore, informational handouts, nest boxes for sale (optional).**

60 minutes = $300 // Same-day, consecutive programs = $100 each

*Owl Encounters & Night Walk is 1.5 hours = $400 total

**2 hour exhibit = $425

website IMG_2407‘Nature’s Little Explorers’ Preschool Program Series

IREEC’s educator will visit your classroom, library or other venue for a season or throughout the school year, to present customized programs for your 2 through 5 year olds.

Presentations include nature exploration through bio facts and engaging demonstrations, live animals, stories, and take-home crafts. Contact us to discuss topics.

45 minutes = Fees based on number of programs in series  //  Maximum 20 children

Birthday Parties for Children and Adults

Host some special visitors for your next birthday party! An informal “Animal Meet and Greet” includes two live animals and bio facts to examine. For children’s parties, add a wildlife craft for each guest to create. (Optional)

45 minutes = $250 //  Wildlife craft = additional $35 Maximum 15 children

Boy and Girl Scouts

We travel to your location for a variety of badge-based programs, which include live animals, day or evening nature walks with activities, and small craft projects. Contact us for details on different badge-based programming.

60 to 75 minutes = $200  //  Maximum 15 Scouts

 

Summer Camps

Add a unique touch to your summer camp with a live animal presentation!

For ages 2 to 6 (20 to 30 minutes):

  • Fur, Feathers and Scales – live owl, snake & turtle, puppets, bio facts, features for survival
  • Nature Detectives – live owl or hawk, snake & turtle, bio facts, using our senses

For ages 6 and up (30 to 45 minutes):

  • Hunters of the Sky – live hawks & owls, natural history, adaptations, conservation measures
  • Awesome Owls – live owls, natural history, adaptations, conservation measures
  • Amazing Animal Adaptations – live hawks & owls, snake or turtle, features for survival

First program = $225  //  Same-day, consecutive programs = $75 each  //  Maximum 50 children per program.

School Groups

Designed to aid teachers in meeting curriculum standards for environmental and natural sciences, these fun and educational, cross-curricular programs will enhance students learning through use of live animals and bio facts, visuals and hands-on demonstrations to learn different concepts.

For Preschool and Kindergarten:

  • Nature Detectives – live owl or hawk, snake & turtle, puppets, discovery tools, bio facts, using our senses
  • Storytime with Scarlet, the Screech Owl – live owl, two stories
  • Other topics also offered for series-based programming 

35 minutes = $200  //  Same-day, consecutive programs = $75 each

For 1st through 12th grades:

  • Hunters of the Sky – live hawks & owls, natural history, adaptations, conservation measures
  • Awesome Owls – live owls, natural history, adaptations, conservation measures
  • Amazing Animal Adaptations – live hawks & owls, snake or turtle, features for survival
  • Habitats are Home – live hawk or owl, snakes or turtle, habitat components and needs, how to conserve local habitats
  • Pennsylvania Wildlife – live owl or hawk, snake & turtle, highlighting some PA wildlife species – threats to them, roles in local ecosystems, & conservation measures
  • Stream or Pond Study (body of water at site required) – Assess the health of your community’s aquatic habitats through collection and study of aquatic life, and discussion and demonstrations on water pollution causes and prevention.

40 to 60 minutes = $300  //  Same-day, consecutive programs = $75 each

Minimum 8 students, maximum 60 students per program
